With more companies providing menopause leave, the future employment of women over 40 years old is under scrutiny. Businesses loose experience, knowledge and millions of dollars when women cannot attend work due to menopausal symptoms [1]. Understanding the impact of introducing menopausal care and services allows businesses the maintain inhouse talent and increase profits.

It looks to question the type of work (full time, part time or not working) and where they work including employment at a business, owning their own business or if they contribute to their family business.
Snapshot Summary
49% of women over 40 on the Sunshine Coast primary work part time as an employee. While majority of working women are aged between 44-54 years old. Therefore, the common profile is a woman aged 49 working part time as an employee.
